Crema Coffee Garage sources coffee beans from a variety of regions around the world, including Africa, the Americas and parts of Asia. We source our beans direct from the origin and also via green bean traders, who work with farmers and producers to find the best beans available.

All our coffee is currently roasted, blended and bagged in our Newcastle location, guaranteeing freshness and quality. We sell several house blends, seasonal blends, cold brew beans, and new single origins monthly. See our range of coffee beans here.

Our Montezuma blend is roasted using organic green beans. Available for purchase online or in store in 1kg, 500g and 250g bags.

Yes! We sell a variety of green beans in 1kg bags, sourced from popular coffee regions including: Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Indian Robusta, Sumatra Kuda Mas, Colombia Popayan, Brazil Ruby, Guatemala Antigua Los Volcanos, and Uganda Mt Elgon Bugisu. PLEASE NOTE: Current availability of green beans is limited due to supply issues. If you'd like to make an inquiry into what green beans we currently have available, please get in touch.

The majority of our blends are 100% Arabica, however we do have three blends that are mixed with a very high quality Indian Honey Processed Robusta: Black Caviar, Ruby Tuesday and Silverback. The added Robusta in the blend produces greater intensity and strength, making them popular choices among our customers. In fact, the Black Caviar is the primary blend we use in our own Espresso Bar!

Absolutely! All our customers who buy Crema Coffee Garage beans can have them ground at no extra charge and we can grind them for whatever method you’re using to brew. If you’re unsure about what grind you need, just have a chat to our staff who can help work out how coarse or fine you need the grind.

Short answer: No. Please no.

Long Answer: If you have whole beans at home that you are not going to use for quite some time (months or longer) and you really don’t want to waste them, then okay… store them in your freezer. Just make sure that when you use them again, only defrost the amount you’re using and use it straight away. However, in terms of a general storing method for everyday use, we do not recommend storing in your fridge or freezer. This is known as wet storage and basically what happens is the beans soak up every bit of moisture they can, quickly losing flavour and integrity.

The best method for storing your coffee beans or grind, is to put them in an airtight container (Friis containers are a blessing for this) and store in a cool dark place, such as your pantry. This will slow the staling process significantly and keep your coffee fresher for longer.

This is a more complicated question than it appears, as there are a number of factors that age beans and grind. Essentially you have anywhere between 4-6 weeks after roasting for whole beans and up to 3 weeks from the roast date for ground coffee, because it will stale quicker once ground. You will still be able to use your beans or grind outside of these time frames, but it’s a basic guideline for getting the best flavours out of your brew.

Yes, we sell ESE Pods and ten gram pods in selected blends, including Altitude and Silverback. You can browse these here. At this time, we do not sell pods for pod machines. 

Yes, both our Newcastle and Brisbane locations features a showroom where you can see a variety of home and office machines on display. We run demos as well, so you can try before you buy, all you have to do is ring our store and make an appointment!

Our showroom also features our range of other brewing products including grinders, Aeropress, Toddy, Bruer, pour over setups, syphons, cold drips, French Presses, Handpresso and loads more!
